and she let it go to my head,

He hadn’t exactly thought of it considering it was summer and his usual afternoon nap wouldn’t have to be interrupted by the whole homework thing – of course, he hadn’t taken in to account that his body would just naturally wake him up at the right time… which would have been really great right now. Scrambling off of his bed, he searched around the floor of his dorm blindly trying to find a shirt that was at least clean and didn’t have the lingering odor of pot clinging to every last strand of fabric. He really had to be more careful, especially after the whole dinner with his mother that he still cringed about every single time that he thought about it. Snatching a shirt off the floor, he sniffed it before tugging it over his head, barely managing to get it on the right way. Grumbling to himself as he scrambled around his room, he snatched a beanie off the floor and shoved it on his head (not even caring that it was pretty damn warm outside) in a feeble attempt to hide his hair that was sticking in every direction other than the ones that it needed to go. Patting his back pocket to make sure he had his phone, he sighed loudly at the fact that it certainly wasn’t there. Just when he was running behind everything turned to complete and utter chaos, days like this made him feel like he couldn’t ever catch a damn break. Mumbling a string of profanities as he crawled across his bed, feeling up the duvet for any sign of his phone. “Aha!” Slipped from his lips once he had finally located it, left carelessly on his pillow where he had left it. Hitting the home button, a frustrated sound formed in his throat when he realized that he was already running behind schedule. Double checking that he had his wallet, he barely managed to slide his feet in to his shoes before he was bounding off toward the elevator (not even remembering to lock the door behind him). He wasn’t the most punctual person in the world, but he hated being late for things that he wanted to do – especially when he was keeping other people waiting. Ethan was absolutely relieved that was finally getting out of his dorm and off campus, the feeling of going stir crazy always set in after two days of not leaving the campus – he was running on four now, and that was just all too much for his mind. His eagerness only made the ride down in the elevator feel like it lasted longer than it felt, leaving Ethan bouncing on his heels impatiently as the numbers declined from six to one. Rushing through the doors before they had fully opened, he jogged out to the parking lot, scanning the rows of cars for the black vehicle he had to look for. Spotting her out, he waved enthusiastically before bouncing off (tripping off the curb and almost falling on his face in the process). Breathlessly climbing in to the passenger seat, he dramatically sprawled out; resting his head against the window (though was provided with no cooling comfort due to the beanie on his head). “Sorry to keep you waiting,” he said sincerely, a sheepish grin tugging at the corners of his lips. “I may or may not have dozed off for a bit there and totally threw off my schedule! How are you, though?” Reaching over, he went to buckle his seat belt up before stopping himself, leaning over to pull her in to an enthusiastic hug instead. tagged dollie words 623 notes I TOLD YOU IT WAS ALMOST DONE NOW IT'S DONE |
