[/style][style=font-family:tahoma; font-size:10px; letter-spacing:0px; color: #A2A2A2; text-align:justify]Hayden's time in Easton was coming to a close end. He literally got on a plane for Oxford in four days and even though the idea excited him, there was a tinge of sadness that tinted all his excitement. He knew that he had to be there. He had already accepted his acceptance. Paid the tuition. Paid for his dorm and bought an apartment. And signed up not only for his fall classes, but a few summer ones. Classes there started in two weeks, just enough time to get fully moved in and make sure that everything was locked away so there was no way for Lily to go through his stuff.
Graduation was over. Finals were long in the past. And the only thing that was on the horizon was that early morning plane he had to catch. And he still had to make sure all of his belongings were going to even get to Oxford safely. But all of these thoughts were on the back burner for right now. Right now the only thing that Hayden was focused on was remembering where Jake's new house was. Him and his best friend had been through some hard times as of late. Actually the entire year had been hard. And Hayden had within the last month realized what a horrible friend he had been to Jake, but it had been a little too late. Despite this, Hayden wasn't going to lose his best friend that easily. Especially with him flying off to another country soon to go to school.
This would be the first time in their lives that they would not be living in the same city. The two boys had grown up together and probably knew each other better than anyone else did. Which was why Hayden understood why Jake was hurt when he had pushed him away and pinned blame on him when he was at his lowest. Jake didn't deserve that. Looking over their lives it was evident to Hayden that Jake had always been the better friend, but he had stuck by Hayden anyways and Hayden had appreciated that. So in a last ditch effort he was going to try and at least start them back on a road to being the close friends they once were because Hayden didn't know if he could, or even wanted to, go through college without being able to call his best friend up. Sure he couldn't get drunk with him anymore, although getting drunk over the phone might not be such a bad idea, but he knew that for once in their lives they would have to learn to talk their feelings and not drink them. So if he could just show Jake that he was trying to be a better friend then maybe he would be the person that Jake called when he was having problems once more.
Hayden parked the car in front of the house that he was almost positive was the one Jake had just moved in to. He got out and walked to the door, knocking and waiting for the door to open. He was glad that Jake was the one that answered the door and not some stranger, or Astrid. 'Hey ok before you say anything I have a proposal. And I know this is short notice, but when I leave for Oxford it's going to be the first time we haven't lived in the same place ever. So I thought we needed an epic adventure so I was thinking three day road trip to Canada. We would leave today and get back on the twenty-third. And if you don't want to do that we could do anything or nothing. But dude I just want my best friend back. I know I've been an ass, but I'm trying to at least start fixing our friendship before I leave so Canada is just an idea but we can do whatever you want.' Hayden could feel himself a little bit out of breath after his big ramble, but he didn't care. All he cared was that Jake might give him the millionth chance that he so didn't deserve.
