Okay, so let me preface this with the fact that I'm usually very laid back with the topics you guys talk about. Things happen in the real world, and things happen in-character in the rp world. This being said, it has come to my attention that there have been some topics brought up that have made members of the site uncomfortable.
Triggers, which are things such as rape, self-harm, molestation, and other unpleasant realities, are things that can cause severe, devastating emotions, and even flashbacks. Be it the thought of the trigger itself, a personal experience, or any other reason, triggers are touchy subjects that lead to bad feelings. RSWB was designed to be a friendly atmosphere where people could roleplay together, and this cannot occur if our members are experiencing negative emotions. If they have to be afraid of coming across a trigger around every corner, then they can't fully enjoy their rp experience, now can they?
So what I'm asking is that you take these triggers seriously, because they are serious, and concretely reduce the usage of them. I understand that they are unavoidable topics in the rp world, and that's okay; but they should not be mentioned in excess, and if they are mentioned, it should be in a tasteful way. If its a post, consider adding a note or a tag. Remember, we don't allow the roleplaying of explicit topics on this site, so that shouldn't be an issue. However, if you feel it's absolutely necessary to mention a trigger in excess in a post, please tag it. This lets people know to avoid it, so they don't accidentally stumble upon it. Likewise, if someone says they are uncomfortable with something in a thread, icc chat, the cbox, or any other forum of communication on this site, please acknowledge it as serious and treat it that way. If you're not sure if it's okay to post or say, don't say it. This extends and is enforced both in character, out of character, and in the icc and cbox as well.
Similarly, if you feel uncomfortable with something that someone is saying, and they won't stop it, please let a staff member know. RSWB is supposed to be a fun, easy-going atmosphere, not a nightmare.
This serves as a warning, and if there are further complaints, or it is being abused again, staff will give you a warning. If a second one has to be issued, that's a ban. If you're uncertain as to what a trigger is, and would like a more in-depth explanation, feel free to PM me and I will be happy to explain to you.
Thank you for your cooperation - Dollie
