[/style][style=width:360px; background: #343333] [style=font-family: georgia; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; color: #ffffff; text-align: center;]NOW YOU'VE LOST YOUR MIND the pretty girl i left behind, and now you're getting rough but everybody knows you're not that tough So far, her plan seemed to be going pretty well she was on a 'date' with Aaron Westlick, the guy she had decided to gun for and it had been quite easy to do. She hadn't even really hard to work for it. A part of her wondered why, how had it been such an easy thing to do? But then the obnoxious, egotistical part of her told her that of course he would fall for her easily. She was pretty, clever and well, who wouldn't want to date her? She was the best Kaelimm as far as she was concerned and certainly the best freshman girl available, most of the others were idiots, dopes or just simply push overs. A Legacy like Aaron needed a girl like her, somebody who could look out for herself and had her own mind.
"You know, you were right, this place is pretty good." Eden said, looking over to her date as she stuck her fork through her chicken, small smirk on her face. Pretty good for her was an overstatement. She wasn't one for barbecue places or food for that matter, but she had to play nicely because she was determined to get what she wanted. And if she scared him off then she wouldn't get that. It wasn't Aaron she was interested in, he was nice enough, not as good looking as his brother in her opinion but an okay guy. He was yet to prove to her that he was more than just the slightly cocky Legacy boy who could get her in a more prominent position in the popularity stakes.
She went back to pushing her food around her plate with her fork, occasionally stabbing a couple of things to place in her mouth. She didn't really do dates, she'd been on a handful before but only if she thought she could get something out of it. Nothing had really worked out for her so far, she either wasn't able to tolerate the boys at all, or they couldn't give her what she had expected of them. True, she could scare some people off, actually she could scare a lot of people if she wanted too but she was generally nice as pie to people's faces.
Looking back over at him with a small smile she couldn't help think she had him nearly all worked out but there was something she felt like she was missing. Like he had something hidden up his sleeve. Well he was a Westlick, she would be surprised if he didn't. "So, Mister Westlick, what's next?" Eden questioned putting her knife and fork on her plate before resting her elbow on the table and placing her chin on the palm of her hand, watching him with a raised eyebrow.

It's not much of a life you're living It's not just something you take TAG: -- OUTFIT: -- ONE LAST THING: --
Ninety-nine times out of one hundred, the kids at Easton would of loved to have been in his shoes. Seated across from him was a pretty girl, the kind that made kids his age gush and think of inappropriate things. There was nothing wrong with that. Puberty and hormones were to blame, yet something other than Eden's looks intrigued him, reeled him in hook line and sinker.
They were never too close. They knew of each other, spoke on occasion, and the more Aaron saw of her, the more his mind tinkered with an idea, with a plan. His last almost-relationship hadn't gone as smoothly as planned. Big sister had stuck her nose in his private matters, which was something kid Westlick didn't take kindly to. In a sense, the situation hadn't blown over, leaving his mind to torture itself until he could come up with something, anything, to get back at her.
Aaron may not of had Chase's prince charming looks yet, but he still had the name; and with the name came an outstanding will to succeed. Eden was a means to it. "I was, wasn't I?" he managed a grin while cutting off the fat from his steak. All in all, he hadn't chosen the place for the food, or even because it was "special." From a carefully constructed observation, a place like this put Eden out of her element. It put most girls out of it, actually. What teenage girl would seriously enjoy a barn turned barbecue restaurant, where at times it was so noisy and rowdy you could barely hear yourself think?
Hoping she was out of her natural habitat, one that didn't include starbucks, the mall, or the salon, although they ate and chatted, Aaron was carefully observing. It was comical, really. She saw him only as a piece to keep her in the spotlight, to soak up that popularity she so desperately needed, desired. And Aaron? Well, he needed a girl to put his dearest sister in her place; someone who wouldn't scare easy, a girl that knew what she wanted, and would fight to maintain it.
Obviously Aaron was unaware of her actions, but wouldn't have minded it regardless. Why would he? A moment inside his head made him wonder "is this the Westlick way?"
Normally he was the type with a lot of inward dialogue. Not in this case though. If he wanted something, he'd get it. After all, he was a Westlick.
"Well, I'll be honest," he wiped the corner of his mouth with a napkin. "I was really hoping you'd be the Jasmine to my Aladdin." In reality, it was more like a modern day Bonnie and Clyde with a little less outlaw criminals and a little more teenage drama.

[/style][style=width:360px; background: #343333] [style=font-family: georgia; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; color: #ffffff; text-align: center;]NOW YOU'VE LOST YOUR MIND the pretty girl i left behind, and now you're getting rough but everybody knows you're not that tough All she could really think about was if she managed to bag him she really would be the most popular freshman girl around. And that was what she wanted, hell what she wanted was to be the most popular girl in school but she was aware she might have to wait until she was a little older for that to come around, for a little more recognition. And she knew, in this school at least, the Legacies would always have a head start on her and she hated that, despised it with all her might. But she would find a way to beat them, beat them at their own game. She wasn't about to be brushed aside just because her status was different. Not if Eden had anything to say about it that was.
As well as this being a bit of a game for her to play it was also helpful in the fact she was getting something her sister could never beat her on. They always competed against each other to see who could be the better twin, Eden liked to think she won most of the time and it was probably her true, her temper tantrums did a lot for her when it came to her parents. That and she was clever enough to create a plot or scheme, like the one she was concocting now, in order to get what she wanted if her temper tantrums failed her. And there was no way Isla could get a Legacy boyfriend of her own, well Eden highly doubted her at least and if she even tried it, she would stop her in her tracks.
Eden would not and could not be beaten.
She looked her date in the eyes when he spoke, she never had been one to back down or avert her gaze, she wasn't shy at all and she wasn't an easy target. Her brothers didn't call her the devil child for nothing. She was quite convinced her heart was pretty much made out of stone and she didn't mind that, as long as it helped her get what she wanted she really didn't mind. Eden picked her head off of her hands and scoffed a little at his cheesy line. Wow. She had really picked a good one here, way to go Eden. "I'm not really one for the Disney princess crap." She knew what he was asking, of course she did and she would be taking him up on the offer but she was going to make him work for it now that she knew he was interested. She had to remember to get him to play her game, not the other way around.

"Oh?" Aaron had slowly become accustomed to seeing through surprises, but Eden managed to throw a banana peel in his plan from the start; that was cool. Like Chase used to say when they were kids, there's no fun in it if there's no challenge. She presented just that, and if he was going to set his sister straight, he needed her. As much as it pained him to rely on someone other than himself, it was the truth. The old Aaron might of played things differently, maybe tried coming at it from a safer angle, but this new, jaded kid had other means. "My bad. I thought you liked getting showered with gifts... I didn't mix you and your sister up, did I?
The more he hung around the kids at Easton, the more he saw just how corrupt it was. Money gave you power, sure, but wealth? A family like the Westlicks gave you everything. A girl like Eden couldn't help but want a piece of that. Whether they played the lovebird card or not really depended on if she was a team player. "So if you're not a Disney girl, what exactly are you into?" Watching Chase over the years had gotten Aaron to where he was now in the girl department. His older brother never really paid attention to the hints, tips and tricks he gave off, or so Aaron thought, but they helped every now and again, now especially. Eden was a breed of girl he'd never dared to get into a relationship with before, which was mostly for his own sanity and safety, but most of all because of the similarities they all shared with his sister.
Sometimes, though, you put up with a lesser evil in order to rid yourself of the other. He just hoped Eden was the means to keeping Aileen in check for his sake. Playing into Eden's hand was alright to him, for now. After all, keeping her comfortable yet on her toes in a situation he was trying to pull off without her knowing wasn't exactly easy, which lead him into trying to play both gentlemen and the manipulator. Keeping her off her game also meant playing a card he wasn't too crafty at himself. "What made you come on this date anyways?" It was a bold question split into two parts, something she might not have expected him to ask, at least not at this point during dinner. The first was just its forwardness, the second, making sure to imply this was in fact, a date. The first of many, he hoped, yet secretly loathed.

[/style][style=width:360px; background: #343333] [style=font-family: georgia; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; color: #ffffff; text-align: center;]NOW YOU'VE LOST YOUR MIND the pretty girl i left behind, and now you're getting rough but everybody knows you're not that tough He just had to go and mention that damn sister of hers, not that she didn't like her twin sibling, no. In fact she was about the only person she actually got along with and she knew the feeling was mutual between them. But that didn't stop the fact she still disliked even being compared to her let alone somebody suggesting they had got the two mixed up when they knew full well they hadn't. It stuck the stick that was up her backside on further in and put her in an even more snappy mode. Yeah, Eden was done playing nice for the night.
"You'd know if you mixed us up." Her voice betrayed her slight annoyance even though she tried to hide it a little. But then again she didn't really care, if he was going to purposely piss her off then he could deal with the consequences. If they were going to be together then he was going to have to adapt to her slight mood swings and learn what annoyed her and what didn't. Because really, you didn't want to be in Eden's way when she was annoyed. She wasn't afraid to play dirty and hit below the belt if she needed too. However, he might be able to redeem himself by showering her with some of those gifts he had mentioned.
A smirk reappeared on her face when he asked what she was into, he was going to have to work a lot harder than that in order to get that out of her. "Well, I'm not into magic carpet rides that's for sure." She took her gaze off of him and picked up her lemonade, taking a sip and taking her time about it too. She was trying to figure out how to play this, she needed to remind herself how to play nicely, she really did not want to run him off already. Although did she really want a guy who would flee at the first sign of a bit of attitude? The answer was, if he was a Legacy, then yes she did. She didn't care if he was a pansy or not.
His next question caught her off guard though, it came just as she was setting down her drink but all it did was to cause her to raise an eyebrow, not looking at him just yet. She finally settled on an answer in her head, turning her head back to look at the Westlick boy. "Hrm, it certainly wasn't the food." A playful smile had appeared, her mood changing again, back to being focused on the cause. She had to get what she was after and she wouldn't let her sometimes spiky attitude get in the way.

It's not much of a life you're living It's not just something you take TAG: -- OUTFIT: -- ONE LAST THING: --
There wasn't any fooling Eden, which was to be expected. If Aaron thought she was half the girl he figured her to be, she'd be on top of her game from start to finish. She didn't waste any time getting to the bottom of it, so he figured he'd humor her a little. "You're right. I could probably get any number of girls to come out on a date with me. I am a Westlick, after all. But, unlike a lot of the fellas here at Easton, I have certain standards." Certain requirements was what he really meant to say. No ordinary girl would do. Not for Aileen. If he picked another Rose, he'd lose her faster than he could introduce her to his parents.
No. Eden would be able to stick around, she could roll with the punches and dish it out just as bad if not worse. He knew her reputation, hell, even her own friends feared her. That was power. That's what he needed.
Before he could indulge her with a few more sweet words, the praising quickly stopped, and she met him halfway, expecting the honest truth. Only a single questioned remained; could he trust her? Despite the scheme he was hoping to pull off, to once and for all set Aileen straight, to give her an unmovable object that wouldn't crumble at its foundation the moment it went up against her relentless attacks, he'd show her. Again, could he trust her? It was all perfect, but if Eden wanted nothing to do with it, it left his hands in the air and at her mercy. What if she told Aileen? What if word got out to the school?
Raising his hands as a sign of peace, he eased himself away from the table, taking in a single deep breath. "You're a smart girl, Eden. There's no denying it. You know it, I know it... and that's why I need you, specifically," he said, honestly meaning it. Despite the foul taste it left in his mouth, and the churning he felt growing inside the pit of his stomach, Eden's expertise was needed, that was no question. "My sister... lets just say she's been in my business long enough, yeah? I'm tired of her sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, but in order for her to get the picture, I need someone to put her in her place. For. Good."
He held his stare for a moment, letting his words sink in. To think little Aaron, the baby Westlick had adopted the Easton lifestyle, something he loathed and grew tired of quickly, so easily. He was a natural manipulator, able to play with the best of them, and while he felt bad for admitting that he was using Eden solely for the purpose of getting back at his sister, dealing with Eden was the lesser of two evils. "I'm no Chase, but I'm still a Westlick. If you stick with me, go with the whole "couples routine," he said, quoting with his fingers, "you'll get noticed. You'll be popular. We'll be helping each other out," he smiled genuinely. "Of course, if you're not up to it..." he sighed, "well, then dinner is over."

[/style][style=width:360px; background: #343333] [style=font-family: georgia; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; color: #ffffff; text-align: center;]NOW YOU'VE LOST YOUR MIND the pretty girl i left behind, and now you're getting rough but everybody knows you're not that tough "You know what? You're pretty great".Well, she wasn't about to disagree with that comment, although it wasn't exactly one she heard an awful lot. Mainly it was just her telling herself that but it was certainly nice to hear it from somebody else. She scared most people, she knew that, even her "friends" were somewhat terrified of her. But that's the way she liked it, it made them less likely to step out of line or go against her in any way. The more scared they were then the higher the chance of them doing what she wanted, when she wanted. It had always been like that, in every school she had been to and Easton was no different.
Eden couldn't help but to scoff at his comment, not even bothering to hide her disbelief at what he had said. She highly doubted the fact he hadn't gotten the chance to take out plenty of pretty girls in his time. He was a Westlick after all and she knew girls, like her, were impressed with money, wealth and status. Even at their age. She was quite sure he probably had girls throw themselves at him with every corner he turned on the street. Then again, maybe he was picky, maybe he actually had standards and was looking for something, or someone, in particular? It was certainly a possibility and she wanted to find out.
"I'm sure you have plenty of girls that you could take out on a date." Eden remarked, eyebrow raised as she glanced over at him. This was certainly interesting though, she was curious why he had picked her out of all those possible choices that he must have. Obviously she was smart and pretty, but she wasn't completely ignorant, there were other smart and pretty girls out there, especially at Easton Academy. It was like a breeding ground for the intelligent and the beautiful, so surely a guy like Aaron would have no problem picking someone who was up to Legacy standards?
It did make her wonder and Eden hated to be out of the loop. She needed to know what he was doing, what his thought process was. Normally she could read people pretty easily but Aaron was difficult, she couldn't quite tell if he was playing a game or not. But Eden was a direct kind of girl and she wasn't afraid to ask questions. "I suppose I would." She paused, fiddling with the end of the straw that was in her drink. "But I want to know what game you're playing and I want to know the rules." Eden turned her attention to him, looking him in the eyes. She wanted to know, she didn't want him to back out, pretend there wasn't anything going on. If he did lie then she would know, his face would betray him and notify her of his secret. And Eden would very quickly use it to her advantage.

[/style][style=width:360px; background: #343333] [style=font-family: georgia; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; color: #ffffff; text-align: center;]NOW YOU'VE LOST YOUR MIND the pretty girl i left behind, and now you're getting rough but everybody knows you're not that tough Eden raised her eyebrow at his as she leaned over to take a sip of her drink again, taking her sweet time about it as she did so. She was in no rush to answer him, if she was even going to give him an answer at that. Eden knew she met the required standards to be a Legacy girlfriend, she had the elite status, after all legacies had no time to be wasting with a scholarship or lost cause kind of person. She was pretty too which certainly helped her stand out from the rest of the crowd, it wasn't like a legacy to date somebody average looking. You just had to look at the girls the older ones hung around with to see that. So even though she had figured she was of the acceptable standard, it was nice to have it confirmed.
Eden did love having her ego stroked.
And then it seemed, she had what she wanted. Or at least that what it looked like, he was going to tell her his game plan. She knew there had been one, she just knew it. As nice as this was it had been a rather, sudden arrangement. They had talked before, but they had never exactly been close, then again if you were a Westlick you didn't really have to know somebody to ask them out, you just did it and you were pretty much guaranteed a yes. Eden had toyed with the idea of declining but now she was glad she hadn't, she got to knew his game plan without even having to work it out for herself. This was turning out to be a very productive 'date' indeed.
She too leant back when he started talking, although kept her back straightened against the seat, that eyebrow still raised as she watched him. That eyebrow could be a good thing or a bad thing. It could either be a sign that you had her attention and that she was intrigued, or she could just be entertained by your idiocy. In this case it was definitely the former when Aaron told her he needed her. Specifically. Yeah, that had definitely caught her attention, need and want was different and although she liked to be wanted, being needed was much better, that gave her an upper hand she could use whenever she felt the mind to. It was advantage she might like to play with at a later date if he ever felt the desire to back out of the arrangement he was proposing to her. He was definitely a Westlick that was for sure.
Deciding to stay quiet as he talked she just sat back and listened, lightly drumming a few, well manicured, fingers on the top of the table as she looked at him, not taking her eyes away from his face. He could definitely spin a good deal that was for sure. He finally finished speaking and an amused smile played on her face at his last words. Oh no. Dinner was far from over if Eden had her way. "Well," she said as she leaned forwards on her arms, "this all sounds very fun and I am always up for a game or two." Her smile grew a little wider as she took her time to tell him she would accept his offer. "And you definitely didn't skimp on the flattery, so I guess I could help you out." She spoke, leaning forwards to finish off her drink. Eden really had no problem bringing down his sister, it was something she would probably do on her own accord anyway if she ever felt the need to. But the offer of popularity and expensive gifts was too much to just pass up on. She may as well be getting some kind of reward while doing her dirty work. "But I really don't want to stick around for dessert."
