[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: what? The Outfit: HERE! The Notes oh rapunzel rapunzel! Helena had been feeling somewhat better to be honest but it wasn't entirely the same. She was certainly thankful for one thing though and that one thing happened to be a person, and that person happened to be her best friend. Dani. He always seemed to know how to effortlessly place a smile on her face, it wasn't like she doesn't feel the same towards the rest of her friends, oh dear lord no, she adores and loves all of them; the only difference is that she knows Dani the longest time. He is her buddy from Los Angeles, the one who she came here with and who happened to stick around with her. It was a nice thing to think about as she continued on to walk, she had managed to change her clothes from her school uniform to something else, and while she doesn't exactly hate the uniform she is thankful to be in her own clothes. Her eyes glanced around the place, wondering what she was going to do now, because at this very second she doesn't have anything, its weird because she had been trying to get a busy schedule, but today she had nothing after school and it made her a little anxious.
It was in that very second that she was walking close to the parking lot that she stopped when someone wrapped an arm around her waist and then a hand cover her eyes. In a normal situation that would have not caused anything to her, she would have just calmly wondered who it was, and or she would have thought it was Hayden. The second one was definitely not possible, and the first was not happening because it is not a normal situation. Therefore, she began to feel her heart speeding up before she heard a voice, and thankfully it was a familiar one. "Come on Hels, I bet you want to see the shining lights." she smiled instantly and set one of her hands on top of the arm around her. "I do want to see the lights" she said with a chuckle, knowing who it was now, no real need to have to turn and look at him to know it was Dani. Her heart beat slowed down from its rapid pace and she simply stood there, smiling and waiting for him to uncover her eyes, assuming they were just going to hang out and that his words had been only a way to break the ice, not that they really needed to break the ice to begin with.
It was then that he changed the hand for a blindfold which caused her to shake her head before shrugging her shoulders. "You will have to help me move around" this probably doesn't look rather normal but at the same time she guessed the fact that she isn't yelling and she is just smiling will help people see this might be odd but not a bad thing. Her eyes were shielded from the light that was starting to dim as the sun began to set. She wondered what they were actually going to do though. "Where are we going?" she asked him, slowly moving her hand over his arm so it would reach his hand, she took it, just as a way to keep herself with some comfort that he was still there. This reminded her of the few days she had been blind and it was a little bit scary but he was here with her, and if she wanted she could easily move and take off the blindfold to be able to see. However she is going to keep herself calm and just wait and see what they were doing, as she now found herself inside a car, and she is certain the car is moving. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: so many! The Outfit: what? The Notes awkwardly copying mel's templates since 1995! He would say it took weeks of planning; that he felt like he'd been perfecting this moment forever and that there was nothing he could do to make it better; that it would be the best moment in Helena's life ever and that he would be able to take all the credit for the rest of his life. It would only be a lie partially. It had not taken weeks of planning, there were probably some things he could do better, and he had no idea if this would be the best moment in her life, even if he damn hoped so. It had been around two days of running around crazily and finding someone who owned a boat who was crazy enough to lend it to a boy who wanted to light up some candles while in it to make his friend happy; he'd found the perfect person soon enough. He was an old man, whose red cheeks made him look Santa Claus-jolly but it were really just the effect of sunburn and alcohol; he had white hair and a dirty beard; dressed like the perfect sailor, and smelled like one too. He had offered Dani his boat for a whole evening and night for the small price of $200 bucks and a new striped t-shirt, and knowing he probably wouldn't get a better deal than that, Dani accepted. The catch? It could only be on Wednesday. Which was today. Fucking hell, how'd he even manage to get everything ready?
A basket full of food waited for them in the car, he planned for them to picnic on the sand after the joy ride, along with his waterproof speakers and playlist-ready iPod, a blanket, candles, and an assorment of other things Dani was taking just in case. New set of clothes and a towel for each, just in case one fell in the water. Two crowns, a few books, pillows, notebooks, and a whole bunch of other things that were justified for taking, even if just in his head. "Blanket? Food? Yes. Permits? Yes. Everything? Ok." He turned around and started walking towards Dulcinea when he remembered the most important part of his plan. "Shit!" He ran back. "Blindfold, blindfold, blindfold." With that in hand, he ran to Dulcinea, knowing she'd be coming out soon. He sat around the corner, keeping a small mirror pointed to her door as he waited on the cold, hard floor. "Helena Marie Adelstein, where are youuuuuuuuu? My butt hurts and the boat won't wait foreverrrrrrrrrr." He whined, checking his watch at five second intervals. "Just come out already."
When, finally, it was her walking out the door [breaking him out of his reverie, where he'd been wondering when Dulcinea and Videlict had become their homes] he sat up like a bolt of lightning. He had to act fast if he wanted it to be a surprise. Seeing her stop, he ran to her, putting his hands around her waist and over her eyes. "Come on Hels, I bet you want to see the shining lights." Nervous as hell, he wrote off the skipping of his heart as fear of scaring her and the butterflies in his stomach as relief when she smiled and placed her hands over the one he had wrapped around her waist when she heard his voice. "I do want to see the lights." Her chuckle was the sweetest thing on the planet, Dani loved it. He smiled as he wrapped the blindfold around her eyes, it was an old scarf of hers that she'd forgotten at his place and he'd never given it back, out of sentiment, he felt something inside him twist when he saw it on her once more. "You will have to help me move around. Where are we going?" Her hand in his had never felt better.
Once they were both seated securely in Dani's trusty old mom-mobile, he kissed her forehead and answered her questions. "Geez Hels, be patient won't ya?" He chuckled. "What's the point of planning surprises for you if you try to ruin them?" He grabbed her hand while he drove, seeming to sense that she needed it, somehow. "You'll like it, I swear. Best surpise ever." He turned on the radio, to a CD he'd once made for both of them. "Sit back, sing, relax." He soothed her, rubbing circles on the back of her hand with his thumb. The beach wasn't that far away but it was enough time to put someone at unease if they were blindfolded, so he started singing, knowing it would distract her enough. "I know I'm a shit singer but you love it, so shut up." He laughed. He hadn't felt this good in a while. It was amazing, making his best friend happy. He'd do it as many times as he could, forever.
Once at the beach, he stopped the car and turned off the radio, turning in his seat to look at her even if she didn't know it. "Hels." He gulped, finding his throat to be strangely dry and his voice incredibly croaky. "I know that... The breakup got you pretty bad... Even though you've been trying to hide it." He looked down to find her hands clenched in his, and his voice dropped to a whisper. He was so damn nervous. "I hate seeing you unhappy, it's the worst thing in the world." He found the strength to look back up at her, finding it hard even though she couldn't possibly see him with that scarf over her eyes. "I hope you know you can trust me and that I'll always do anything I can to make you happy. Always Helena." He leaned forward and pecked her cheek softly before leaning back, smiling and finding the excitement for the night inside him once more. "Which is why I planned the best surprise EVER." |

Seriously, Helena couldn't have asked for a better person to be here with her. Lately she has been hanging out with Lyss more than before, and she was turning into a very important person for her. However, there was something different with Dani, and she was glad that he was here with her. This little moment though, it was making her wonder what they were going to be doing, because knowing Dani it will be something rather fun. He had always been able to link his sense of humor with hers, ever since they had started being friends it all worked out for the both of them. It was interesting to be honest, to have someone blindfold her, then take her to a car and not have one small clue as to where they will be heading off too. It was nice thought, fun, and it obviously managed to bring her head to this moment in time and only that. It had been an interesting week though, but she had been feeling somewhat better, and that was the important thing. She could now go to bed most time without feeling that there was something missing, surely some days she did felt that way but others she is perfectly fine. It was really like a roller-coaster, which is something she likes until the roller-coaster turned into an emotional one. Now she fears to forever link that game with this moment in time; hopefully that won't be the case, it would be sad to end up that way. It was difficult to tell at this moment, however, she has faith that it will all end up well for her. A small sigh left her lips and she pushed forward, focusing on Dani and whatever it was he has planned.
It was then that she felt the kiss and it made her smile, thinking ht was probably right and shouldn't be looking forward to ruin the surprise but that was not the case at all, she is just wishing to know what they were doing but now that he had pointed out that this was meant to be a surprise she decided to keep herself silent and just try and relax with the blindfold and listen to him while waiting for them to arrive to whatever place he wanted. She was glad that Dani was holding her hand, it once more made her brain to register that he was there, even when she is able to hear him, there was something comforting on having him taking her hand instead of just speaking. It was then that she chuckled and nodded her head "Alright, I can do that" she said to him as she took a deep breath and then began to listen to the song; it made her smile and nodded her head. It was then that she began to pay attention to the songs and it caused her to smile; she knows those songs, she knows this music, not because she has heard it before but because it was a CD that they happened to listen to endlessly when they were back in LA. Gosh, this was making her want to go back to LA but no, she couldn't do that. Specially not today, specially not in the next couple of days. Her eyes were closed under the blindfold, thankfully or else she would be blinking furiously to stop the tears that were sort of building up. Once more his voice broke into her, it was almost like he knew when to speak in order to get her to stop her brain process and make her smile once more.
There was something in his voice when he spoke her name after she felt the car stop that made her almost frown. Then she felt it again, all of her emotions breaking free in that very second, her head slowly moving so she would have been looking down if she had been able to see something. Her hand holding on to his as a way to prevent herself from just breaking down. Had she not been doing a good job at hiding it? She felt like she had, she had managed to speak to Hayden once or twice, she kept talking to all of her friends, she was acting cheerful and happy and... yes, some of it might be fake, most of if anyway, but she doesn't want everyone to notice it is only an act. Her head moved slowly, nodding to let him know she was understanding him and she also smiled a little as he kissed her cheek. It was nice to know he would be there for her. She titled her head up, following the sound of his voice, hoping she was looking in the right direction. "I know, I know and I will always be there for you as well Dani, forever and a day" she said to him with a smile, she would have returned the kiss but she couldn't exactly see where he is so she wasn't going to risk missing and making a fool of herself. "I am sure it will be amazing, and I would be more excited if I was able to take away this blindfold which by the way looked awfully familiar when you set it over my eyes" she added with a chuckle. Her hand moved his and she tugged on his arm a little. "Can I please take it off, please, please, please?" she asked him, probably looking and sounding like a little girl but she doesn't really care. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: so many! The Outfit: what? The Notes ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn't have fallen in love with? After play fighting with Helena for around fifteen minutes; where she begged to be let see and he denied her (chuckling), Dani finally had Helena walking next to him on the beach with all the things he needed in a basket in his other arm. He was thankful that they could avoid the sand to get to the boat and use the boardwalk; they were clumsy enough walking as it was. With Helena's eyes covered like that and Dani's balance compromised by a heavy basket on one side and a girl on the other; they didn't need floor that shifted with every step added to that equation, for it'd surely end in disaster. Just when he was about to break down and answer every single one of Helena's questions ("Where are we going? We're near the beach! I can hear waves!") with non-stupid answers ("Narnia Hels, you know how it is. No we're not, that's just my hand. It's waving you see? Well, you can't see but apparently, you can hear it!"), he spotted the old man with the jolly belly standing there waiting for him and he sagged in relief. After all, he didn't want to ruin his surpise!
"Stand here Helena, I promise I'll be right back. Please?" He begged, not wanting to leave her alone if she would be uncomfortable for a second. Sometimes, he wondered at the strength of his feelings for her; they were so intense they surprised him somehow. But he always chalked them off to the fact that they'd known each other for years and that Helena was the person closest to him in any way. He kissed her forehead softly, pushing her hair away from her face in a loving caress. "Be right back Helsy, promise." He grabbed her hands and cupped them, putting a small flower he'd found before finding her between them. Leaning forward to whisper in her ear, he felt excitement grow in the pit of his stomach. "Be careful with that, it's as fragile and beautiful as you."
He walked over to the sailor, rubbing his hands excitedly as the man explained everything about his small boat to him and nodding excitedly at everything. This was going to be a great day! When he turned around to go back for Helena, the old man's gruff voice came from behind him. "That yer girl? She's pretty." With a soft smile, Dani looked back at her and sighed; knowing that pretty wasn't enough to describe her. "She's fucking beautiful." Turning back, he quirked a grin at the Santa sailor. "She's just my best friend though." The old man chuckled, a deep, resounding noise that came from the very center of his being; throwing Dani off. "Yeah right boy. I c'n see it in yer face. When're ye going to tell her yer'n love with'er?" Blowing the old man off with a laugh and a shake of his head, Dani shooed the man away. "You don't know what you're talking about." He smiled again. "I'm not paying you for advice on my love life, I'll bring your boat back around six thirty." The old man shrugged and started walking away. "Yer loss boy."
Shaking away the odd feeling left by the old man, Dani prepared the boat with the candles in the marked safe spots by the sailor and put the basket in before coming back for Helena. "I'm going to untie your eyes now because I don't want you to fall." He said, walking behind her and undoing the knot. "I really hope you like this." He held his breath as he let the piece of cloth go and wrapped it around Helena's neck, avoiding looking at her so she would have time to school her face into something resembling excitement if she didn't like it. Gods, he hadn't been so nervous before... What had changed? |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: what? The Outfit: HERE! The Notes this is how she hugged him click here! Helena was thinking a little bit on where they could be while she had been fighting over with him to try and get him to tell her. It wasn't really that she had been trying to ruin the surprise but she was trying to guess at this moment and asking a bunch of questions which caused Dani to answer in a lot of ways; most of them rather cute and funny if you asked her. Who wouldn't want to be at Narnia, but then again she wasn't really that interested in going there, unless you promise her Aslan will be there because that lion is just extremely cute. She smiled a little bit, her legs moving as he guided her, she had tried to guess again and yet another time he answered with a joke. Helena bit down her lower lips as they walked, this resembled a lot as to those few days where she had been unable to see, when she had to have someone help her walk around or else she would end up bumping into absolutely everything. Those couple of days had been horrible; she truly admires the people who had to live that way everyday, because they are a huge inspiration to her. She didn't wanted to think much about that though, because then her mind would think about what the doctor had said; sure she could be perfectly fine right now but only time will tell if her surgery truly worked out. The idea of it not working, of her vision going away once more, well it scared her and caused her to want to never face anything else again. But, at the same time, if it was to happen she will face it head on, sulk in silence and make everyone see that she is doing alright. The last thing she wants is for people to worry to much about her, they just don't have to worry about her at all. Yet it seemed they will do it no matter what. Her eyes were closed, obviously, but she still is very certain that they were at least close to the beach. Or he had put on some nice beach sounds on an ipod or something.
When they came to stop and she heard his words her instant reaction was to tell him not to leave her alone. Her head titling up as if she was trying to look at him, which she was. If he could see her eyes, or rather, if she had been able to look at him he would have seen the fear that suddenly crossed her entire body. His touch was reassuring though and she knows that he wouldn't leave her alone and that she wouldn't go away, or not too far away anyway. Her head nodded slowly, she could stay here for a few moments, she could do it. When he set something in her hands she tilted her head down, as if trying to see it until his words caught her attention. Her smile grew a little, brushing her fingertips over it while trying to figure out what it was; once she had traced it all she figured it out; a flower. Once he was gone she moved it closer to her to smell it; it did smelled like a flower so she assumed that is what it is; she dropped her hands and held them together before her, trying her best to not focus on the fact that she has no clue where Dani is at the moment. She was nervous, of course she was, but she was doing her best to hide that away. She could once more hear the waves, they were definitely at the beach, or near by and she was just looking forward to taking way the scarf that was currently covering her eyes.
The waiting wasn't exactly something Helena likes, in fact it was eating at her on the inside while she tried not to start plucking away the petals of the flower because it had been a gift from Dani. However she did felt like shifting from one feet to the other, yet she also stopped that because it would make anyone who is around to realize about her internal struggle. So, instead of doing any of those things, she just took a long deep breath and began to sing, inside her head of course. While she sang, she began to think of what she might be able to do as a choreography; maybe something simple and calm, more of a interpretative dancing than what she is very used to doing which is hip hop; Yes, something subtle would be the best way to go this time around. It was funny how her mind managed to travel away from the fear and stress she had been feeling a few moments ago to just feeling somewhat better now that she is thinking about dancing. Dance was her life, it is her life, no matter what she will always feel better as long as she is able to keep dancing. Helena couldn't imagine her life without it, it would probably crumble down and take a lot for her to even consider do anything again. How long has it been? By the time Helena recalled where she was; or rather, the state is in, her mind had bee lose for a while and the fear returned to her; wondering once more where Dani could be and what was taking him so long.
Finally she heard Dani's voice and she will be free from the blindfold. Her smile grew a little bit and she waited rather impatiently for him to move it. Helena opened her eyes slowly, allowing them to adapt to the light that was clinging to the place but they quickly grew wide as she saw where they were. No way... there was no possible way that that was for them, for her. "Woah" she whispered, looking around while she stepped forward a little, her expression filled with surprise and obvious happiness. "Is that..." she couldn't find the words, it was just, it was a lot to take in. There was a genuine smile on her lips, and this was probably the happiest she had felt in the last couple of days. She turned around, looking at Dani, she walked over to him and threw her arms around him, jumping a little to be able to wrap them around his neck in a way that her feet stopped touching the ground, actually, her legs just wrapped around him, she just loves it; she does and she had to find a way to express it and that way was hugging him in the best way she could. After a second or two she let her legs fall back and pulled away; still rather shocked and happy and just ready to do whatever he had planned to do next. "This is amazing, you are amazing; what's next?" she asked while she smiled up at him, clapping her hands a little as she stepped back and turned to look at the boat once more. She actually feels like she is in a movie, this was too much, so movie like; it was just, great. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: so many! The Outfit: what? The Notes it kinda sucks Dani's stomach was flying with butterflies as he saw Helena's hands reach up and pull off the blindfold, after all, he wanted this to be the best surprise Helena had ever had. He had no doubt it was when watched Helena's eyes light up in excitement and he felt his chest swell with pride when he realized it was the best damn surprise she'd ever had. 'Ha! Take that Hayden!' He thought as Helena wrapped her arms and legs around him and he twirled them around, loving her enthusiastic hug and the fact that he could see she was no longer thinking about that brat who'd broken her heart. It was all he'd hoped to do by bringing her on this boat. When she stepped away, he couldn't help but smile brightly at the look on her face, knowing that whatever he did now, it'd still be one of the best things to ever happen to her... He hoped.
"What's next Helbells." He started, poking her nose before turning back onto the boat. "Is that we sail for a bit. You'll love it." He wiped his hands on his jeans, realizing they were still sweaty from the nerves he'd felt before showing her the boat. "Milady, we're going on a ride you'll never forget. Hopefully. Unless you get amnesia like that lady in 'The Notebook', which I sure hope you don't get." He grabbed her hands and pulled her closer, to whisper in her ear. "Tonight, we are going to have a lot of fun pretending we're Rapunzel and Flynn." He pulled away, going for the basket and putting in the boat before climbing in carefully, like the old sailor had taught him to do so he wouldn't tip the boat. When he was sure the boat was balanced, he turned around.
"Be careful when getting in Helsy, we don't want the boat to tip over now, do we?" He reached out and grabbed one of the poles to which the boat was tied before reaching out to Helena. "Just don't be scared. I'll be here to catch you. Just like always." He smiled and wiggled his fingers. Her hand was small in his, and he wrapped his fingers strongly around her, so she'd feel the strength of his feelings, the lengths of what he'd go through to protect her. He wrapped his arms around her when she landed on the boat before leading her to the spot where she had to sit. "Ready Rapunzel?" He whispered, looking into her eyes with his own shining with happiness. "We're about to have the time of our lives." |

Helena surely has no real idea as to how Dani had managed to orchestrate all of this because, well, how in the world did he managed to get a boat? Even more important than that how did he managed to decorate it like this and keep it a secret and just. Gosh she couldn't even start to describe how amazingly sweet this was; she had been feeling extremely sad the last couple of weeks, she knows that very well and anyone who has been able to treat her for longer than a few minutes could tell that as well. Life wasn't as good as it used to be, or at least it seemed that way to her but she was trying her best to go back to her happy nature, it was a slow process but she was doing her very best. It always helps when she has friends like Dani who take the time to try and get her out of her misery and see that she still has reasons to feel happy. This isn't the end of the world. Even when it felt that way when it happened. She took a deep breath, once she was back on the ground, glad that he didn't seem to mind that she just simply jumped to hug him. Happiness had taken over her after all.
She looked up at him, looking like a little girl who had been waiting for her Christmas present and was about to receive it. Oh gosh that seemed like such a fun thing to do; she almost jumped up and down while clapping her hands but she definitely managed to stop herself before allowing that to happen. There was no need to display more funny things, she could handle herself after all, or so she was hoping for. Oh she for sure doesn't want to end up having amnesia, specially because she never wants to forget about this moment. She just wants to be with him tonight, forget about the rest of the world and have a good time with her best friend in the entire world. Helena walked a bit closer to him as he pulled her closer. A wide smile came to her lips, that sounds like a lot of fun which is exactly what she needs. Helena obviously followed him when he headed to the boat. Oh gosh, if only she had gotten a camera, but then again she had been 'kidnapped' outside of the Dulcinea building so she didn't have much time to think of what she could bring to this little adventure.
Helena nodded a little bit, the idea of causing the boat to tip over and end up ruining this moment made her feel rather nervous so when he grabbed her hand she returned the gesture by wrapping her fingers around his. She smiled and nodded a little, she knew very well that he was honest. He wouldn't let her fall, ever, which was extremely reassuring. Finally she made it to the boat, glad to see it all went down smoothly. Helena nodded at his words "Absolutely ready Flynn" she assured him. Before sitting she wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tight as she stood up on her tip toes in order to reach him better, allowing her lips to be close to his ear. "Thank you so much; you are the best" she whispered, quickly kissing his cheek before pulling back and taking a seat on the spot he had told her. "Alright, let's get going!" she said with a cheerful tone of voice, if he was doing his best to make her happy, then she will do her best to be happy. She has to admit, it is actually helping, because she was slowly letting it all behind, maybe it won't cure her sadness, but at least for today she will be able to enjoy the moment and just forget the world outside of this boat. |

The Notes LET'S DO THIS It was what he had done all this for, that light in Helena’s eyes that had dimmed so intensely these past few weeks that he had started to become worried. He had always thought of Helena as stronger than him, as invincible, as something that no matter what; no one could break or burn or hurt. The fact that Helena had seemed to disappear almost completely inside herself had been something to keep him up at night, sweating and worrying his heart out for the girl who held most of it. ”I’ve always been the best though, I don’t know why you sound so surprised.” He winked at her before going to the back of the boat and turning it on like he’d spent hours practicing with the old sailor. ’Be careful boy.’ He’d said. ’This’s where it all goes wrong, usually.’ Dani imitated the flowing movements of the old man almost to perfection now, the image burned in his mind because of fear and nerves. ’Just make sure ye step ‘ere and there.’
The rumbling of the engine, the one that meant he’d been successful and probably wouldn’t capsize the boat and almost drown him and Helena, resounded all around him, and he almost had half a mind to reach up and cover his ears before he remembered he had to look strong, brave, and confident if he wanted Helena to be calm. ”We’re a-going! Ahoy!”
Once in the middle of the sea, well not really the middle but he wanted to pretend he’d been brave enough to take Helena to a place where if they fell off the boat he’d have to be a prince in shining armor and save her. He felt his heart swell almost uncomfortably as he watched the joy in her face of being there with him, in the middle of the sea with an iPod and portable waterproof speakers between them. ”Ready? Bet you weren’t expecting this… Well, any of it really but this is the best part of the surprise.” He said this almost shyly, his cheeks burning and he ducked his head before pressing ‘play’ on his iPod and letting the sweet tunes of the Rapunzel song they’d been singing to each other on the chat just last week fill the space between and around him.
”Let yourself go Helsy, become her. You’re just as beautiful, even more.” |

The Outfit: HERE! The Notes oh rapunzel rapunzel! Helena just felt extremely happy to be spending time with him. Dani had always been there for her when he needs her and to be honest all she can do is to be happy that she has such an amazing person here in her life. The last few weeks had been the worse of her life, and that seemed to count the times she spends time with her father. She can't really understand why it all hit her so hard, every time she thinks about it, it just makes her feel like someone is ripping her heart out and slowly crushing it. Deep inside she knows that she doesn't have to make that happen; she knows that if he is able to move on then she should be able to do the same. Her mind was playing tricks on her, because each time she feels like things had gotten better inside her mind something happens and it all crumbles back down. Her eyes were locked on him though, smiling a little as he spoke. "Good point" she whispered as she looked at him, noticing that he had moved over to the edge of the boat. She wasn't sure what to say so she merely glanced around to take in the view. Quite honestly she can't believe he did this, because it was beyond anything she could have ever imagined.
When they were finally moving she chuckled and nodded her head. It was nice to be out in the open sea once more. Her hand moved slowly to play with a lock of her hair. She couldn't help but smile, glancing around even when she could hardly see anything at all. It was amazing though, and she glanced down at the water, taking a long deep breath. She could feel the pain on her chest start to slip away from her. This was what she needed, to be able to spend sometime away from everything that reminds her of how sad she used to be, every place she visited with him and just focus on her friends and how amazing they are. It was then that she turned to look at him, her smile only growing. She has no idea what she would do without Dani, probably fall into a deeper hole and maybe never be bale to crawl her way out of it.
Helena tilted her head a little at the words, it made her a little more curious and she waited patiently for him to do or say something else. When the song reached her she couldn't help but light up entirely. "It's out song!" she wished she could just move over and hug him but she also doesn't want to end up tilting the boat and end up falling into the ocean. "And you are more handsome than Flynn so it works perfectly" she smiled at him before glancing around once more. "And it's like the sky is new, and it's warm and real and bright, and the world has somehow shifted. All at once everything looks different, now that I see you" she smiled at him as she turned to look at him. "Your turn!" she said happily, hoping he would follow her lead and actually sing along. This is amazing, seriously, everything that she had been feeling just slipped away from her. She bit down on her lower lip, moving a little closer to the edge of the boat and she leaned forward a bit, making sure that the boat wasn't tilting in that direction, just wanting to see the water a little closer, actually also wanting to brush her hand over the water as well but she stopped herself at the moment. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: blaaah The Outfit: what? The Notes LET'S DO THIS Dani couldn't help but smile beatifically as he and Helena exchanged the lyrics to the song, their song, as Helena had so romantically said it. His chest ached when he thought about it. Helena and him? Romantic? Surely those words did not go together at all. His heart thought differently though, it seemed to be singing at the chance that those words might go together and suddenly, it was as if everything clicked into place. Why he'd been so jealous of Hayden. Why he'd always take Helena's side even if he didn't agree with it. Why Helena came above everything else in his whole fucking life. It was as if the song and the movie had somehow wormed into his mind and blew it away. Fuck, he was in love with her. He grasped her hands as he sung, hoping that somehow, she'd know what he had just realized. But no. She couldn't. She could never ever know, because if that ruined their friendship it would ruin his life. And he really liked to live.
When the song was over, he let her hands go and walked to the back of the boat. "Sorry dearest."- every pet name he'd ever called her had a new meaning now, a more profound feeling behind it -"I know you'd love to stay out here forever but I promised I'd have it back before sundown and it doesn't seem all that far away. To be fair, it's all your fault, really." He grinned and ruffled her hair before driving the boat back to land and when he'd managed to get Helena and everything else off the boat, he turned to find the old man standing behind him with a knowing smirk. 'Finally realized it, eh?' He cocked his head towards Helena, and Dani was sure he went beet-red. 'Lassie like that, 'm sure she's worth tha trouble.' Dani glared at him before turning away and muttering a promise to bring the old man his payment the next day and shuffling away towards Helena.
"So, you hungry yet?" |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: what? The Outfit: HERE! The Notes we are doing it; wooo! Helena could seriously stay like this for a long time; she loved this moment. It was pure bliss really, and she hadn't had pure bliss in a while. It was a little sad to think about it; she had always been happy, she had never actually been terribly sad, granted when she was little she had been sad and things had gone wrong with her father but her grandparents had done an amazing job at making her happy once more. This time around though, this time it just felt like rock bottom when everything had happened. All the dark thoughts that had flooded her mind were horrible, simple horrible and not something anyone should ever thing about or even imagine. But they had crossed her mind, surely and it made her feel bad. How could her happiness be linked to one person to that extent? She couldn't really understand it. But now it was time to pull herself back together and let go of the past. She was trying of course, but who knew how long it will actually take her. Even so, right now all that matters is that they were happy and singing and enjoying the moment to the fullest. Dani's upbeat personality always seemed to help her, because on some level she kind of feels like he is like her; always looking at the bright side.
It was kind of sad to know that the song was over, that them being out into open sea was going to end now but she knew it was bound to happen. "How is that my fault?" she asked while she moved her hand and brushed it over the water surface, letting her fingers rip the waves while he guided the back to shore. She stepped down with his help and picked up some of the things they had while he went to speak to someone. She wanted to help and carrying a few things will surely make that happen. She didn't peeked into the basket though, wanting everything to be a surprise. Helena smiled a little at the man when he looked her way, she wasn't really sure why he would be doing that but she merely shook that away and glanced around once more while waiting for Dani. She didn't wanted this day to end, it felt right to just be out here having fun. By the time she turned back around Dani was on his way back and she smiled brightly at him. "Yes, very much so" she nodded her head. Well maybe she wasn't exactly starving per say but she could definitely eat something if that was the next step in this little plan. She wasn't sure where they were supposed to go from here so she merely smiled and waited.
"Now, explain to me again why it was my fault we couldn't stay out in the ocean for a longer period of time?" she asked him, nudging him a little with a smile. "Because I think you are mistaken" with a nod she began to follow him. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: blaaah The Outfit: what? The Notes LET'S DO THIS Dani grabbed Helena's hand as he pulled her to what he had designated as 'the picnic spot' a few days earlier when he'd been planning everything, he laughed when he heard her accusing and teasing voice saying that it was most definitely not her fault they couldn't spend more time in the water, that surely it had been Dani's fault. He glared at her playfully for a few seconds, not managing to keep his glare in place. Was it because he was in love with her? Did that mean he'd have to take any abuse she wanted to give him and not be angry? Not that he believed Helena would abuse him or anything, she was a little slice of heaven. But what if she hadn't been? What if she'd been her own little devil and Dani had followed her to ends of the Earth, burning everything he touched because she asked him to? He shuddered visibly before concentrating on his Helena, his real Helena. Surely it should be illegal to be as lovely and perfect as she was? As sweet and caring, and hopelessly fragile but stubbornly strong? Surely he wasn't as lucky to fall in love with such a woman? He sure hoped he was, that he would be lucky enough to wake up every morning for the rest of his life knowing that this little angel was his for keeps.
"It is your fault." This came out more loving than he meant it, and he hoped she didn't think there was something wrong with him. "You took ages to come out and let me kidnap you, I actually thought this might have all gone down the drain soon." He smiled at her and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Thank God it didn't though, cos I already bought that man his shirt and the ticket specifically said 'No Refunds'." He nudged her playfully for a second, pushing her far away and then pulling her back with the hand he was holding and then pulling her into a one-sided hug as they walked. "Maybe I'd have gone on the boat on my own and become a sailor, come back in a year and let you smell me." He winked before he let her go and start setting up for their picnic and then bowing enormously to let her know she could sit down. "M'lady." |

Helena smiled and for a moment she wondered how on earth he had managed to make all this happen and even more, how he had managed to think about it. It was such a creative thing to do and she had to give him credit for making it happen; she knows Dani has amazing ideas when it comes to have to spend time but this had been beyond and above everything they have ever done together before. It was seriously a blessing to have him in her life, and even more to know that he is her best friend and will always be there for her. To be fair though, she knows that she will always be there for him as well, no matter what he needs or when he needs it, she will be there if he calls her name. When she glanced at him she wondered if the shudder had been because he was cold, in all honesty she doesn't think it's cold at the moment, in fact she thinks the weather is rather nice although he could just as easily think otherwise. Hopefully he wasn't freezing though, because she can't exactly borrow him her jacket, it just wouldn't fit him and she is quite certain he might not accept it if she is to offer it. Oh well, she can only wait and see how he feels later on, maybe she is just imagining things.
She glanced up at him once he started talking, head tilting a little as if waiting for a further explanation on the matter. She chuckled and shook her head a little. It was impossible for her not to take a few steps away from him due to the nudge, although she soon returned to his side. "No, you can't leave me for a whole year" she shook her head. "And no smelling you after being out in the sea for that long" with a smile she glanced around. With more serious look she did a quick bow as well, and then took a seat. "So, what have you prepared for us today?" she asked. Helena patted the spot next to her, motioning for him to take a seat as well. "I am sure it's delicious though, of that I am quite positive" she wasn't a good chef, or cook, or just plain good with food for that matter, but she wasn't going to think of that because it will guide her to the times she attempted to cook and the most recent ones could be linked back to that time when she wasn't even spending much of her days or nights at Dulcinea, and that time was black listed by her brain as a Do not open file. It would just bring back tears, maybe one day, in the far away future she will be able to think back on it and smile, and not feel sad, but as of now that is not happening. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] And at last I see the light And it's like the fog has lifted The Words: blaaah The Outfit: what? The Notes LET'S DO THIS He loved the way she patted the ground. The way she just flopped down when he motioned for her to sit. He loved the way she'd always push her hair behind her ears when it got in the way even though she probably knew it'd probably just fall to get in the way again. He loved the way she smiled, the way it lit up her whole face and made it seem like the most glorious thing in the world. God, he loved her. Ugh, was that the way it was going to be now that he'd noticed? Would he think about her every second of the day (not that he didn't before, but more consciously now), muse about her neverending and everlasting beauty? Would he swoon every time he thought about her? Feel his knees get weaker with every breath when she wasn't there beside him? Would he spend sleepless nights when they didn't talk as much as he wanted them to? Shit, would his life revolve around her now (again, not that it didn't before but now he would notice, and didn't that make all the difference?) Somehow, he hoped not... At least, not while she didn't love him back. It would only mean suffering.
"The great Chef Nolan and I prepared marvelous food designed to please your palate in the most delightful ways." He drawled, a perky pretend-British accent tinting his words. "The menu is quite varied but consists of Helena Marie Adelstein's favorite foods. Care to take a guess?" He grinned mischeviously and pushed the basket behind his back. "Each time you, young lady, correctly guess one of the foods in this basket, they will be handed to you to appreciate the fine taste Miss Helena has for food." He shuffled forward until his knees were touching Helena's and he leaned forward to whisper in his ear. "I'm sure you'll guess correctly Miss Adelstein. After all, you know all of her favorite foods." |

Her eyes glanced at him and she smiled as he began to explain that it had been Nolan the one helping him prepare the food. She had tasted Nolan's food before and the guy was actually pretty good when it came to cooking, so she was only more excited about trying it out now. Her eyes looked at him and she tried not to chuckle at the accent he had suddenly decided to use. Oh so it was really all about her? She hoped he had made something he liked as well, as they were both going to be eating. or so she was assuming at the very least. Her eyes locked on him and she smiled, trying to think of what might be inside the basket. It was food she likes, that much she knows but she likes a lot of food. Then again, if one is to take actual care into the words, one will be able to notice that the key element here is "favorite"; it's not just stuff she likes to eat but rather the things she likes to eat the most so that narrowed it down a little bit; only a little bit but that was good enough for her.
Helena glanced at him after he was done with the little game of guessing the food, or rather the explanation of it "Alright then, I think that inside that basket there's..." she paused, taking a second to think back on what her favorite food actually was. "Sushi, maybe umm, Oh! I know! I love chocolate covered strawberries you most have that in there" she said matter-of-factly. Her smile grew at that and it she turned to look at him. "Alright, let's see if I am actually right with those two options" she said in the end, her hand moved to ruffle his hair a little, she had always liked doing that, play around with people's hair; everyone who knows her a bit more that just an acquaintance has probably been though her 'let me braid your hair' deal, but she loves Dani's hair, she really does, it's the best one and she is pretty darn sure it's prettier than hers so that makes it even more special. Her eyes stayed locked on his hair for a few seconds, probably less, maybe one second or two as she waited for him to respond to her. |
