S E C O N D A R Y
likes: football, professional wrestling, hockey, old movies, partying, nujabes, mcdonalds, suits, dancing, laughing, trying new things, playing guitar, graphics design, fast cars, breakfast for dinner
dislikes: coke-zero, drama, obnoxious people, scallop potatoes, when people talk a language he doesn't understand in front of him, his step-mother, his father, slow drivers, romantic comedies, smoking
aspirations: to put his sister through college on his own, owning a business, see new zealand, get married and live happily ever after someday
motivations: ambition, a better life, proving his father wrong
fears: losing his sister, being the black sheep, being homeless
key traits: adventurous, competitive, willing, goofball, witty, humble, protective
personality: On the outside, Ken's an independent, charismatic, confident, fun-loving kind of guy. The type to give you the shirt off his back, he's very friendly and isn't the typical jock teenager that singles out people just for a laugh, preferring to make friends with everybody and keep good vibes rather than make enemies, which he only has a few of. Some might see him come off as trying to act perfect, whether its how he tries to treat everyone equally, or helps those in need, but all of this stems from his childhood and family that's he's been trying to run from for most of his teenage life, safe for his younger sister Taylor, who he adores. A problem solver, he tries to get to the bottom of things quickly, and almost always has a solution to everything.
Behind his big smile and playful nature, Ken's struggle lies with his family. After losing his mother in a car accident before his fourteenth birthday, the relationship with his father dwindled soon after, and pretty much became nonexistent after he remarried a woman who he's certain is a spawn of satan. The family turmoil only worsened because his decision to leave at sixteen left his younger sister Taylor alone, making him feel guilty for leaving her behind only for the sake of his own sanity. For the past two years he's been fighting for custody of his sister, leaving him with more stress on top of the average teenager's life. Transitioning into the college life won't be easy, especially away from his former school, which he'd become quite fond of. Because of his fathers drinking problem, Ken rarely drinks himself, figuring the disease his old man carries will likely effect him too, which would only hurt his chances of helping his sister.
family tree: Father: Scott Sigo
Mother: Diana Hardy
Step Mother: Beth Sigo
Sister: Taylor Sigo
history: Ken's life is all sorts of complicated. Losing his mother at such a young age left him to grow up fast. Soon after her death, his father, who he used to be close to, turned into a horrible drunk, often beating and degrading his boy verbally. On his sixteenth birthday, through hard work Ken managed to get a full ride to one of the most prestigious performing arts schools in New York; Peaceland Academy. After being accepted for his academics, he joined their football and basketball teams, quickly becoming a star student on the field and in the classroom. Not long after his sophomore year, his father moved in with his now step-mom, who continually did nothing but give Ken a rough time whenever he visited home, eventually causing him to not visit at all, causing a rift in his family.
Shortly after his junior year in high school, Ken started filing paperwork to get custody of his little sister, which lead him into working two summer jobs while keeping up with his school work simultaneously to help pay for the costs. The custody battle lasted well into the middle of his senior year, with him still losing in the end; the loss left Ken feeling nothing but defeated, that he couldn't get her out of that household, and he'd failed to protect her. The realization left him rather on edge for a time, causing him to do things and see people who's company he never enjoyed before. Getting his act together thanks to a few close friends, nearing the end of his senior year, after applying to college's all along the east coast for his visual arts and music, having been accepted into three of them on a full ride, Ken chose Easton University as his new home for the next four years.
Little did he know that Peaceland's popularity and prestige carried over for a few others students, namely Phong Chan and his best friend and ex, Katherine Vela. With a few familiar faces on campus, things don't seem so bad on the outside. The inside, however, is an entirely different story. Doing a wonderful job with the Easton Killer's cover up, our dear Ken has walked away from the life of an average teenager, and into a world most would simply call dangerous. This isn't your typical, average town where everyone gets along, and in the summers preparation for his first days at college, he'll likely find out why.
