personality:
Nate on the outside is a smart, sweet guy. This is mainly due in large part to his two year relationship with Natasha. She made him into a hopeless romantic and most of his efforts are geared toward his future with her. He is also crazy about his baby sister Jaylee, the apple of his eye, and put the other half of his efforts into making sure she's happy as well. He's friendly, likes to laugh, and can pretty much make friends with anyone after one meeting. He also enjoys a good mystery or two, and is really good at figuring people out at a glance.
On the other side, Nate is sometimes a workaholic. Ever since his parents lost their elite status in Easton, he had to deal with the consequences of going from being one of the rich kids to being an average kid in high school, and he believes that he is all the better for it. However, a part of him still tries to overachieve to show that he he can make his fortune on his own from the ground up. If anything gets in the way of his ambition -- outside of Jay and Natasha -- it has to be deleted from his life.
family tree:
father: Nathaniel James Ralston Sr.
mother: Makayla Janay Ralston
sister: Jaylee Lyric Ralston
history:
Nate is the eldest of two children to Nathaniel and Makayla Ralston. Nathaniel was a self-made man who became the CEO of his booming business while Makayla was a pageant queen and a model when she was younger. He was always expected as a kid to excel at everything - basketball, softball, football, soccer, track, you name it, his parents had him in it.
When he was 16, enjoying his years at Easton, everything started going down hill. Something had gone terribly wrong in her father's business and he was soon declaring bankruptcy. They soon moved into a small apartment and Jaylee and Nate were having to share a room. Nate thought his dreams of going to Easton and then going to an Ivy League were destroyed, but after a year in public school, he was able to get a scholarship that put him back in Easton for his last two years, but he had to deal with the constant reminder that he was no longer a part of the Elite crowd, something that followed him until his graduation. During this time, he rebelled a little, got a couple of tattoos and began to smoke (which didn't last past a couple of weeks because the smoke choked him terribly). The phase was brief, but he knew it was because he just wanted to forget everything that happened.
Instead of going to Harvard, Nate decided to go to Easton University where he could stay close to his parents and help his father get the business back off of the ground. It was a slow going process, but now his family at least has slightly more income, although they are nowhere near where they used to be. All Nate could do was repeat to his dad what his dad used to always repeat to him. "Slow and steady wins the race."
It was also at Easton University that he met his first true love, Natasha Sommers, who he has been dating for two years, and is contemplating marrying. Natasha moved back to California last summer to finish out her degree at UCLA, but that didn't stop Nate. He is determined that the two of them will get married, even after warnings from those he knows what she is possibly unfaithful. Nate refuses to listen, because after everything he's been through, she is one of the few safe things he has in the world.
